Powerfully unapologetic is my 2026 theatre schedule
It will pull in six of the most stupendously gifted female directors who will deliver six spectacular productions, next easter and next Dec
All female directors are well-respected academics, all with PhDs in various aspects of performing Arts
Two are highly distinguished professors
The six geographical regions of the country have been represented in the choice of the directors
All six would be unveiled in December 2025 during Professor Yerimas spectacle – Asaba
They will all be exclusively interviewed by Channels TV in a historic first-of-its-kind TV interview.
The Production suite will also be all female-led by Mofoluwake Edgar MD of DOSF
The total budget for this plays will exceed N200m
We expect about 7,000 people to see these plays and another 2m eyeballs reached through a massive media campaign
The first of the Plays would be – Kokoro , a depiction of the life and times of the blind minstrel from Owo. This would be directed by the famously gifted Dr Adumati
2026 – you would wish you were a woman.
