Immanuel Fawole, I had met in Ekiti and promptly forgot.
Then he reached out and wanted me to endorse his new book on the creativity of the ‘busybody’ and his/her impact in society
I was intrigued by his chosen field and asked him to send a summary of the Book.
I didnt read it and he sent summaries of each chapter which I still didnt read and then asked him to call me
He called me and we had a beautiful discussion.
Gbongan is a concept, I pushed towards him to better align his beautiful pathway
For Immanuel, the creative and others who better society either thru music, scripts, paintings and innovations use what he gleans from society as fuel for his creations
In building mold fitting solutions and selling those solutions, he must delve into the inner recesses of other people’s business to carve out an acceptable pathway as society continues to seek fulfilment
In our discussions, I took him thru the pathway throd by late Amdassador Olusola who ‘sexified’ the rumour monger by calling her ‘Amebo’
Ambassador Olusola ‘s Amebo became everyones favourite in real life, eshewing the negativity in the art of being a’ wireless radio’
In the sqme vein, this young man Immanuel who walked up to me in Ekiti to take a picture has tried to carve out his own pathway in the series that is life
I have called it Gbongan drawing Inspiration from Amebo cos unlike Amebo who would just tell the stories and moves on to the next story,Immanuel’s Gbogan would use these stories to carve out solutions, using arts, innovation amongst others as main vehicles of delivery
It is for this reason and its expected impact on thought that I fully endorse this book.
Read it
Thanks for yhe opportunity
