Let me state very clearly and from the onset that in this battle, I stand very firmly with Uncle Dele Momodu
What is the fight? It’s a fight for Nigeria. A fight for due process and a fight for the reenactment of integrity in our institutions and decision taking.
These are my two favourite egbons obviously belonging to different sides of the debate and they have not left anything to the imagination in their ‘fight’
Uncle Dele comes into the fight with a righteous indignation and a push towards righting perceived wrongs in the continued train wreck we seem to have found ourselves as a Nation.
FFK on the other hand flashes a rich pedigree parading a long relationship with power from his father forgetting that he has switched sides so many times that we have forgotten the merits of some of his arguments
Now you may want to ask the reason for this my little intervention as a loving aburo to both
I, like many are not happy with this mud bath. What we are seeing are two of our elders throwing all sorts of things at themselves with no strings attached
So far, we have heard things about both and from both that should not be said in public
While they continue in this show, the man they are fighting over is in faraway UK drinking tea with the King
The kind of fight we are expecting from these two is a fight over issues
Let them tell us their position on Tinubu’s scorecard.
FFK should tell us why Tinubu should come back, leaning on his performance in key areas like security, economy, infrastructure etc
While Uncle Dele should tell us why he doesn’t think Tinubu should come back, viz., a viz his performance in key areas too.
What do the two think of the electoral process, Tinubu’s handling of International relations and all of that? Issues that we know both have competence
What we are seeing now is a cat fight where unsavoury things are being thrown at each other in a duel that would make prostitutes cringe from shame
I thought FFK as an Ambassador, should have imbued the fine ethics of International diplomacy.
Ambassadors don’t talk like this o. They don’t involve themselves in these kinds of trashy fights o.
He should not go and do the one that the Germans would not want to have anything to do with him.
One thing he should know is that Germany and International diplomacy do not run in the ‘jaga jaga’ way we do things here so you must be mindful as you proceed cos now you have been admitted into a curated society that runs with strict rules and codes of behaviour
You cannot be doing this ‘agbero’ thing as Ambassador to Germany, they will not receive your credentials
You have to make up your mind, if you want to be a diplomat or you want to continue to be a ‘City Boy’
For Uncle Dele please don’t succumb to the sucker punches and the below-the-belt haggling, rise above and face the issues cos that’s what really matters to us Nigerians
You two can go at each other privately and tell yourselves who has the longer pecker or who has rashes on the bum in private, but in public, let’s face issues
Why are you FFK supporting your master and why should we support him
Uncle Dele why shouldn’t we support him and why should we go with Atiku
Let’s push the debate towards issues.
The question that should be answered is very simple and clear –
Have we fared better as Nigerians and does Tinubu deserve a second term
I know where I am standing on this question and Nigerians know where Uncle Dele and Uncle FFK stand all we need to know is why each of them are standing where they stand and not who slept with his housemaid last night or who is suffering with diarrhoea. Kai
Come and beat me
Thanks
Duke of Shomolu
