Ive really tried not to respond to the well respected Prof Utomi’s response to Mr Kila’s fraud until my brother Magnus Onyibe sent it to me
I know Magnus was trying to bait me and he has succeeded
Prof Utomi has done his legacy and reputation a huge damage if he truly penned this ‘defence’ that has been going round social media
Throwing his own records and reputation into this slime in a futile bid to attempt a salvage has shown that the ravages of age may be affecting his sensibility
Or howelse can we explain a Prof Utomi, a man with almost stainless reputation, a man with a larger than life reputation as a principled and upright man to now attempt to give a shoulder to Mr Kila to lean on at this time
Mr Kila has not come out to defend hinself in any way form or shape, Mr Kila has not taken any one to court to fight for his reputation, strong institutions like the University and Arisetv have pushed him down and yet Prof Utomi in a report linked to his facebook page is trying a fruitless whitewash
Throwing his stint at the VWON and the so called bounty he was said to have thrown up into this matter is sad and also ridiculous as he has labelled the notion that Kila did not go to school.
This is the problem with our country and our people
When there is an issue, we start to obfuscate the facts with sublime notions like emotions, tribe, gender, filial relationship etc
This case is very clear – the man has been alleged to have faked all of his certifications including Bsc, Msc, Phd and also gave himself ‘professor’
Nobody is doubting his brilliance, no one is saying you need the certificates to be adjudged brilliant but this one said he had them and went to school which till date, he has not been able to show reasons why we should doubt Premium Times
What Prof Utomi just tried to do was arrogant and disrespectful
He climbed the alter of piety and tried to use his moral powers to talk down on us on behalf of his fraudulent friend
This is why we are in trouble in this country, this is why we continue to suffer when leaders like this can falter over a little issue like this
The only sane reason one can deduce from this Utomi’s tragic turn is age.
May be at his age, he is more tolerant of these kinds of things cos the Utomi of ‘before’ would never pen this thing that is being tied to his name
This kind of defence should have come up after Kila had defended himself beyond every reasonable doubt but not when what we have gotten from him all of this time is SILENCE
please can Prof Utomi’s village people come and carry him before he use his own pen to destroy his well won legacy
This is the wrong horse he is backing with his watery defence.
This did not do anything positive for both Utomi and his kila protege
This remains a train wreck
