This question is restrictive to my cash liquid status and not physical assets
Cash-wise, yes, I am a millionaire on at least two days of the week, but most days, my true networth hovers between the N100k to the N200k range
So my Networth wobbles and swings very widely between the low Millionnaire status and the N100k level
Most times, I spend two days as a millionaire with a healthy sum in my accounts and the rest of the week, I am far from being a millionaire.
The longest I have stayed as a bona fide millionaire has been four days, after which I drop to the N200k level, where I wallow for days
It’s as if there is a secret ceiling that keeps me within that range
Anytime I struggle and hit the N2m mark, before I wake up, the car will spoil, the inverter will pack up, and Chantal will call for rent or something, and before you know it, I’m struggling between the N10k and N50k range again
I love the confidence that comes with being in the millionaire range.
Once I see the balance, I will be walking around like anything that wants to happen, let it happen
But the moment the balance drops to N100k, I have a different kind of confidence.
By that time, I become philosophical and will be saying that material things don’t matter
But the moment the alert hit, I discard philosophy and rush to the nearest boutique to buy clothes or eat expensive afang
My Networth is like diarrhoea. It’s not stable, as it just flows up and down depending on what project I have or what mood a friend is in
Some days, I will see N5m in my account sent by a bored billionaire friend who will say – Edgar, he don tay i give you money and the next minute the money is all gone on a production, then I will stay for weeks, doing stingy man and fighting my driver for buying N20k fuel instead of N5k
My temperament is tied to my networth.
I am happier, and the best friend u can have when I am in my millionaire range, but I can be a cold, irritating fool when I’m in my thousandnaire range.
I have no fixed source of income and have not earned a salary in almost 10 years, but my liquidity is like that of my village stream, which will be buoyant and full for weeks and then dries up for months
So if you ask me again if I am a millionaire, I will answer again – it truly, really depends on the day of the week that you are asking
