Well, that young, trained Officer is not the fool in this story
Please do not ask me who the fool then is, as I am in no mood for such a tedious endeavour this evening
What I saw in that clip was the finest of the Nigerian armed forces
In his well-starched Khakis, he stood on his oath and obeyed the last order
The foul-mouthed demagogue, in anger, now tried to kill our soldier with spittle
You are a fool, he shouted, you are a small boy, he screamed, and I was in University when you were born, he unleashed
Spewing foul-smelling spittle on the uniformed lad, he huffed and puffed like the proverbial wolf in the Nursery Rhyme who blew the huts away in an attempt to eat up the babies
This particular wolf met his nemesis in this handsome soldier
I am a commissioned officer and I have integrity…
That was our future speaking straight to our ugly present
Our future looks forthright, proclaiming it with a massive dose of confidence and boldness in the face of our very benign and ugly present, as represented by this vile person
What he has shown today is his lack of understanding of the rule of engagement, or his lack of respect for it
That soldier will never and can never take orders from a mere Minister
His orders were very clear and from the forces’ high command, and he was duty-bound to obey the last order, failure of which he would be court-martialled
Attempting to order a soldier in my books is treason, cos if he had succeeded, what would stop him from commandeering a garrison and moving it towards Aso Rock
The Soldier, even at his age, knew the implications of going against his marching orders esp on discipline, cohesion and integrity of the Armed Forces and as such, he refused to obey the tyrant
If he hadn’t stood his grounds, a very dangerous precedent would have been forged on us as every political tyrant around the nation would be ordering soldiers all over the place for their selfish intent.
The lawyer, argonaout and thespian stood there embarrassing not only himself but a whole generation of politicians that have really dragged us through a slimy trough
For me, the unravelling has begun- the reported Coup story, Trumps threat and now this one just shows that the downward slope has begun and we just might wake up to a National epiphany.
Foe now, we can only stand aside and watch the ghouls dance naked in the market place.
This was fun to watch, the dymistification of these annoying person
