There is nothing that has gladdened my heart than the reports that I have seen saying that you have forgiven your Political son and my friend Babajide SANWO-OLU.
A lot of people have wondered about my immense love for this man
Even I myself, I cannot explain. You know how you just simply meet someone and fall in love with the person for no reason, this I must say is the story of my love affair with Sanwo
Some have said that maybe cos he sponsorsors my theatre programmes and i laugh
Of the 32 shows, Lagos state have sponsored only 5 out of which 3 where sponsored by Ambode my Political soul mate and big uncle.
Sanwo has attended only one – Awo and turned back at the last minute on another one.
I have never officially met him beyond seeing him at events and he will rush to me and hug me and say – Duke of Shomolu and I will say Mr Gov.
He invited me to his second inauguration and took a picture with me and asked if I had eaten that he was rushing to Abuja for ur inauguration and I told him there was no afang meaning that his invitation was not heart felt.
During your elections, I stood with him but stood against you. In all the interviews and essays I granted and wrote during the period, I painfully tried to explain how I can support SANWO-OLU so passionately and oppose you with equal passion.
SANWO-OLU comes at you and any task with the vibrancy of a young turk. What you see is what you get. His passion, energy and desire to do good only being equalled by his political naivety which most likely threw him into the abyss with which you have just pulled him out of.
You will be surprised to know that of all the soldiers who surround you, SANWO-OLU is amongst the most trusted as you are surrounded by a lot of wolves who cannot show their true colours out of cowardice and you may not see, since all Lizards lay on their belle and as such there is no way to know which one has stomach pain.
SANWO-OLU has given his best to Lagos and to the Nation with varying feedback from the population.
He has given his best to you up to this very moment.
He took his ostracisement with rare elegance. He didnt fight back, he didnt sponsor third leg agents to anonymously abuse you like others would have done, but remained humble and persistent in seeking your face.
I thread a thin line as I do not support your policies, your politics and your outlook towards Nigeria but within your conclave I see fruits that you would inadvertently nuture that would one day stand up and use the knowledge that they have garnered serving you to finally do the right thing for Nigeria
And this is why I stand with SANWO-OLU cos I belive very strongly that he holds the capacity to play that role and this is why his misgiving was amplified by the Pharisees around you so that he can walk the plank into political irrelvance
Your strength my Lord is not the Ideological strength of Chief Awolowo or the audacious political mobilization hinged on the charismatic and oratrial skills of Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe but on your ability to identify intellect, empower it and watch them work for you
This is why such great minds like Prof Osibajo, Ambode, Fashola, Dele Alake, Oyebanji and SANWO-OLU and more have all deployed their stupendous brain power to make you what you are today – proabably the most powerful civilian President since Chief Obasanjo.
Me I always knew you would forgive cos you didnt get to where you were by being stubborn and stuck in the mud
One thing I like about you – even though there are plenty things I dont like about you is your ability to remain focussed on the ball
I knew that as long as SANWO-OLU still has value to you politically that you would forgive.
So for me, that snub was style for you to give you a soft landing to forgive hom cos you knew it will cause national uproar which would lead to massive begging
You know you are what we used to call sense man in Shomolu – agbari po that is why you are the baba kex the Jagaban of Borgu
Let me seize this opportunity to thank Baba Olusi who was reported to have led the delegation to secure this victory – Baba ese gan, I am looking for you o – I also would like to thank all those who remained very steadfast during this trying period cos it was not easy.
My paddy SANWO-OLU kindly take this journey you just passed thru as a learning curve in loyalty, Leadership and followership.
You have chosen this path to be with Baba Tinubu against my advice, be with him, stand beside him and learn how to go to him on every issue you are not happy about.
You are the Governor of the most important state in Nigeria and as such you should be closer to him than all these charlatans who surround him cos he needs you more than he knows.
His economic reforms cannot succeed without Lagos. He needs Lagos VAT to survive, Dangote Group – the largest tax payer and employer of Labour is in Lagos and lagos accomodates 22m of the most vibrant in the country
Tinubu needs his best man in Lagos and you are the best for that position so stand strong for him.
Lastly, let me thank myself for remaining steadfast to our frendship.
Eventhough our friendship is arms length, It still has not stopped me from being your number ber one fan from afar.
I believe in you even though I do not believe in your system and so far you have not put my loyalty to shame.
Savour this reprieve, grow in confidence, respect your elders, rebuild your followership and lastly use the remaining part of your tenor to work for Lagos – you have slowed down.
Give Lagos a final push and God will be with you Ore mi.
