I have not written about any birthday person for a bit.
But for Eunice, I will come out of hibernation to write
Eunice and I share a brilliant relationship. A lot of people don’t know that Eunice is one of the very few people I run to for gist, for engagement and much more importantly to lay some of my luggage
Eunice and I forged this bond at BGL where I orchestrated her marriage as a young Virgin to the very well-wanted superstar Afolabi Adetola who was then a screen idol
Ever since then, we have shared the ups and downs of life. We have cried together, laughed together, worried together and sought solutions together.
Eunice is not shy with me; she can’t be, as we have gone through some of the most worrying private problems together in strict confidentiality.
Eunice would call and we would talk and she would cry and I would say let’s move as Daddy is concerned and we will move and we will fail and we will look at each other and say, we did our best
Then she will call again with great news and we will laugh and she will praise God and I will praise whatever and we will be happy
I once visited her in Abuja and played with her boys who remain very intelligent and powerfully endowed with striking intellect
One of them represented me at an awards ceremony in Abuja and boldly went on stage to receive the honour on my behalf in front of a huge crowd and TV cameras – he never released the award yet o
Eunice as you turn 50, all I can say is that you remain an inspiration to me
Your mental strength, your ability to cry when you need to, your ability to stand up wipe your tears and move, your ability to remain a pillar for your kids, your ability to remain my friend and sister despite our varying outlooks and most importantly your ability to remain my number one fan, loving me ceaselessly continues to fascinate me and leave me in awe.
Happy birthday my sister and may God grant you a long life and good health
Have fun
