This was Prof Julie Okoh one of the stupendously brilliant female directors that I would be working with next year in response to my just released caricature of the women.
The plays they have chosen remain sweetly exciting – from the beautiful rendition of Kokoro, the blind minstrel from Owo, to Hafsatu, the courageous woman who died with Sardauana, down to Princess Inikpi and Makamba, which chronicles the Aba women riots, and finally, a powerful rendition of the Dein of Agbor.
I have surrounded myself with 6 of the most talented women in theatre nationally.
I have scoured the country to pull them out of the six regions that make this country to bring them to lagos to tell us these stories

These very beautiful and well talented women directors will be unveiled this December during Prof Yerima’s tragic play – Asaba which will take us back to the oft not talked about massacre that took place at some point in our history
All female directors would be flown into Lagos, unvailed to Nigeria and then be part of a wonderful session that would xray challenges of women in theatre.
This session would be free and open to only women in theatre where they would share ideas and resolve to seize the power and push
For the first time, we will have the directors on billboards.
We will sell the directors and not the story cos the true story is the unsung struggles of the Nigerian female thespian
So you will see the beuatiful image of Prof Liman on the largest billboard in Africa annoucing her arrival in the biggest theatre market in Africa
Not only these. The crew from the Executive Producer to the production manager down to the costumers, make up and strategic marketing will be all female
I love working witth women as they remain very passionate, selfless and disciplined and mostly imbued with integrity
These six will pioneer a rediscovering of the role of women in theatre as they will be part of a N240m renaissance that would pull in over 5,000 attendees all coming to watch over 500 thespians in an orgy of stage productions tgat would tell the most beuatiful stories of the land and ill be the only man in the mix
