By now you all know that I am organising a slew of Plays for women, by women, and of women
I want to subsume myself into womanhood
Feel them, wallow with them, listen to them, cry with them, be happy with them
For the first time in Nigerian theatre, we are dropping six superbly brilliant female theatre directors who will deliver some of the most superbly curated productions
History is also being made in the production suite.
Everybody is female – from Duchess the Executive Producer to Mayen ED Finance to Lanke PM, Joy Media Strategy, Emem Prod Accting Executive down to all vendors and even Inem who is producing the Promo, it’s an all-women show
The audience is expected to be women-filled. Women will get discounted tickets and The Place Restaurants will give them food
Nobody in this world has given women such freedom to be creative, to fly and to show colour
Women will bounce they will bond, they will hug themselves they will come out in their fineries and we will all stand aside and say, ” Wow. “
At N67m the first of the six plays – Kokoro and Dora is already breaking all the theatrical records
Two excellent academics – Dr A Ogundeji and Dr Adumati are dropping into Lagos from Ife and Ondo with the zest only intellectual amazons like dem can muster
Prof Liman, Dr Adenuga, Prof Azuro and Prof Okoh the remaining female directors are on standby to destroy all cynics by the time we are finished
I love Nigerian women so much. They are some of the most beautiful, the most humane and although they can be annoying at times, they still remain very sweet and strong creatures
Come to see these plays and witness the largest gathering of the most beautiful women in one place
One of the most beautiful things in this world is being a mother, sister, wife, mistress, grandmother, matraich, boss lady and all the other plumages
My brothers, join me this Easter as we stand aside and watch our women gather
We must allow them to enter the hall first, watch them get the best seats get them drinks, and generally honour them
Only 30% of seats will be made available to men while women will take the other 70%
Nothing will beat the excitement of being a woman this easter
By the time, we are finished, you will all wish you were women
