This seems to be the last standing.

Forces are aligning and realigning, the soul of Lagos State is at stake

As we speak, the House of Assembly is reported to be on lockdown and Lagosians are running to their popcorn as they watch the unfolding drama

The issue of power in Lagos is very clear for all to see, and what we are witnessing today may be the beginning of an unravelling long foretold.

The impeachment of the ex-speaker was an event of seismic proportions and with very strong ramifications as to the flow of power in the state

My top sources in Alausa have confirmed that the Governor is standing aside and not really involved in all of this.

He has also confirmed that on the Governor’s side, they are monitoring the events very closely

I have also heard that the vast majority of the members are standing with the incumbent, madam speaker, throwing up a spectre that could never have been possible in the State just one year ago.

For now, we can only just maintain calm and watch from the sidelines knowing fully well that this is just the beginning of a tumultuous journey that may either retain the status quo or upturn it.

Remember that at the onset of the SANWO-OLU administration, I had predicted that this might herald a Goberchev-type attack on the status quo since the establishment has become so entrenched to the point that it would be virtually impossible to be uprooted from the outside.

Are we witnessing the balkanisation of entrenched authority or are we witnessing the stultification of entrenched power

No hurry; in a few hours, the answer will be thrown at us in technicolour.

NEPA never take light.. We are still watching.

Stay close
