Good afternoon Sir and how are you today.
I remember when Nicholas sacked me and your Greenich was my first port of call trying to get a new job
I hold you and a few others like Mr Mobolurin, Bolaji Balogun, Dipo Aina, Longe, Jalo, Tunde Amologbe and the rest in very high esteem
As a rookie Stockbroker, I was privileged to trade alongside some of you, sell to some of you, buy from some of you and most importantly learn from all of you
What is happening today at the NASD is totally avoidable if we all put head together and seek an amicable solution.
I cannot believe that icons that I have grown up to look up to are being named in this confusion
In the last 24 hours, I have discussed with the DG SEC, Nonso Okpala, Mohammad Garuba, Femi Awoyemi and the legendary Jalo Waziri who has asked to speak later in the day, in a bid to better understand what is going on at the NASD.
The highlight of my day has been my long convo with Mr Mobolurin the very iconic market historian and legend
He led me thru the very beginings of the NASD, its formative struggles, the challenges and how it overcame some if these challenges to the point when he and his team exited
That the NASD is even alive today for this squabble to engulf it can be attributed to its sturdy foundations as ascribed to it by its founding founders amongst who I must mention my altime hero – Albert Okumagba
What was very instructive in my discussion with the great Mr Mobolurin was the fact that the market was peopled by yellow livered operators – in my estimation.
Brokers and other capital market operators fear there own shadows and this is why true and factual advice and commentaries are not availed the various leadership across the market
Even in this matter, a lot have been calling me wondering if I am not fearful.
One even asked if I have been given death threat and I laughed
Is it people who trained me as ‘ole’ that will come and be threatening my life cos I am saying we shd stick by the rules?
This is why when I read that crap Mr Oni wrote the other day and caused it to be published in the papers, I just laughed and shook my head.
I wonder how people talk crap confidently and even went ahead to publish it.
Speaking from both sides of his mouth and telling us that someone was 98 in Japan and another woman was 78 and as such Old age must be something in the market …
It is this type of nonesensical talk that fuels controversy, when someone will be seeing truth and be spewing oriki instead.
It is in this regard, that i make this public appeal to meet with you Sir, to amongst others discuss this NASD matter as a concerned Nigerian.
My dear Mr Falowo, the last time, I saw you was in Abuja and after greeting you, I made up my mind to steal that suit you were wearing, something that I will still do as my all time egbon.
You may not know this, but Tubosun your loyal brother and myself have more in common such that if I say here you will carry a cane and pursue him
It is in this regard that I do hope you will grant me this humble request, so that, I do not go and write the one that will make someone come and beat me
While I await your kind response, let me leave you with one of the greatest sayings from our National Hero President Muhammadu Buhari – I belong to no one and everyone
Thanks
Duke of Shomolu
