Let me just say this first – Nigerian women should learn how to choose their heroes cos this one no be am
I didn’t even bother to watch the clips of her at some UN Parliamentary something last night
Nigerians in their usual effusive emotionally driven rants kept pushing towards me – Edgar Natasha don kill Akpabio
Natasha don go UN, Natasha is really taking the fight and all of that crap.
Sadly, I stand very firmly with Akpabio on this Natasha matter.
I say so cos I had built a career in Akwa Ibom politics standing against everything and anything that has to do with Akpabio
His case got bad when he worked against my Political godfather Akan Udofia in a less-than-stellar approach during the Gubernatorial elections.
His tenure at the Senate has been very colourful in its shame. He has carried along Like a drunken sailor, pissing on any and everything while making his gaffes the order of the day
Akpabio personifies all that is useless in our polity and in our leadership
His lack of empathy and visionlessly marauding through issues and sticky type fingers just caricatures very perfectly the ogres that lead us
Should we feel the need to take him out which I feel is high time, then a very credible and sure-footed strategy be deployed in that guise
It is not this prattle of a prattle that would get the support of very serious-minded people
A very intelligent source who is usually reliable told me this morning that the opposition and probably the promoters of the mega party may now have joined her push in a bid to rattle Akpabio and the ruling party
If this is the case, let me borrow from Cheif Zebrudayah – fa fa fa foul
If that is their strategy, then I’ll be very surprised cos I would not expect politicians of that calibre to resort to lipstick politics at this time of National Emergency
So, as Natasha sat at that International forum, didn’t she respect the rules and regulations of the place?
Did she not speak with decorum? When they banged the gavel, didn’t she stop speaking
If she harassed the Speaker there no matter what, she would be led out of the place
Nigerian women surprise me a lot.
That thing we saw Natasha doing on the floor of the Red Chamber, was it ok?
Verbally abusing the office of the Senate Presidency? Refusing to be orderly in conduct and generally just being of bad behaviour just cos there must have been an inappropriate discussion in Ikot Ekpene?
The fact that others had done it in the past makes it right? .
The kinds of arguments otherwise very intelligent women throw up when a sexual offence is on the table used to make me cringe
Ohh we don’t need evidence, a woman has been violated, its very difficult to come out to shout, so now that this one has gotten the courage to shout she can’t be wrong
The facts are very clear. She was suspended for her issues in the Senate and its rules. She failed or refused to appear before a properly constituted panel and submitted a defective petition showing her lack of clarity on issues in the Senate.
To date, and to the best of my knowledge there has been no attempt to follow due process in seeking justice through the recommended procedure
She has not taken the Senate to court, she has not done any of those but has run to an international forum to wear designer glasses and pout
This is nothing but a play to an international gallery, and those ones who are not mumu like we have here in Nigeria have asked to hear from Akpabio before taking a position.
My ask is, will the IPU now come and impeach Akpabio? Or will it command us to reinstate her?
This was just a bloody waste of her time deepening her position as a symbol of comedic distraction for Nigerians
The best she would get, if at all, from the IPU is a resolution calling for the upholding of female rights or a call for a thorough investigation by the Nigerian Authorities, which should have been her original route in the first place.
Can we please just focus on more important things, this is just an irritating distraction or you may kuku
Come and beat me
Duke of Shomolu
