These are the vermin that litter the political space. It is from this trough that we continue to ‘select’ our leaders and expect reforms
The ‘low down dirty’ ‘ that has characterised the Anambra Gubernatorial Elections has taken the morass that is Nigerian Politics to a whole different low.
In response to Gov Soludo’s remarks on her qualifications – which in my estimation still resonates within the level of civil discussion, Senator Ekwunife went ‘market woman’ on the Governor and his family
Gov Soludo was reported to have queried her doctoral qualifications, citing that the University may not have been qualified or accredited to issue such qualifications.
In response, Our Senator is reported to have not only gone against Prof Soludo’s personal hygiene, claiming that he has body odour and a smelly mouth but also went after Nonye Soludo, the governor’s wife
According to reports, she claims that the Governor’s wife may not have been faithful to her marital vows and was reported to have claimed that she was a mistress to a late Governor of the state.
She was also reported to have cast doubts about the ‘ownership’ of Soludo’s children.
This has led the First Lady of Anambra to issue her own statement in which she has said that Charles Soludo is the only man she has ever known and that she was ready to undergo a DNA test in London to prove paternity of her kids.
She further offered to join her accuser on an oath-taking expedition to any Catholic Church to prove her point.
She also challenged her accuser to join her for the DNA testing and Oath challenge to which the accuser carefully avoided, stating that, the First Lady should concentrate on dispelling the allegations against her husband
This Ekwunife person is a shame without mincing words, and in my estimation, a crude representation of the malaise we now have found ourselves in leadership representation in this country.
The quality of representation since the emergence of the third republic has been on a downward spiral as a result of the continuous weakening of our processes and institutions, which has allowed people like this to sneak through the cracks to emerge in powerful positions.
She represents a large subsect of leadership nationwide
A leadership devoid of vision or chatismatic leaning towards leadership.
A leadership that remains festooned in the abnormal and leprous rent system which seeks such opioid vermins to serve and be rewarded while still goaded to slave for minority civilian dictatorship whose ethos and plans have nothing whatsoever to do with common good, the plank for good governance
Why would a serious democratic process throw up someone like this Senator, if not a system that has been beaten to pulp and is no longer working.
I have taken a cursory look at her long service in public office and as expected have really seen nothing to hold on to.
Her current attempt at being elected Deputy Governor of Anambra, on the platform of the APC is another attempt at the dancing chairs that is Nigerian politics – a situation where the damaged system keeps recycling empty barrels who really have nothing to offer but crass loyalty to the powers that be for a morsel of porridge that would be dropped from the table.
How Anambra state, a state so gifted with Intellectual giants and so culturally Rich continues to throw up these kinds of people needs to be studied
Even in the mad drug wars of South America, they have some level of decency as there are boundaries even the worst of them all, will not cross in their evil struggle for control.
Ekwunife has shown no such respect for decency and sensibility to the public.
She has rendered bare the ‘gutter’ in her and have invited us to join her, in her cesspool of perfidy where she wallows in the odious smell of stupidity.
If she wasnt what she is, she could simply have replied the Governor in a very classy way on his attack on her qualifications by either throwing up evidence as to the sanctity of her qualifications or invited the school to also join the fray and lastly invite him to a public debate to show her intellectual dexterity as a Phd holder.
Instead of these, she goes ‘gutter’ running to a smelly environment she has a natural affinity to.
The onus is now on the Anambra people to keep her in her pigsty and make sure that she and her ilk never rule them now and in the future.
Anambra is made up of a rich assortment of people. A people who have contriubted and continue to contribute very significantly to commerce and socio-economic development of the country and all.
A state that continues to throw up giants who stand tall in this country and it will be a huge disgrace for them to allow someone of this pedigree and standing to go near their Government house.
The laugh will be on all Anambrarians, if they allow this to happen. Shame.
Come and beat me
