Since Nnamdi Kanu was sentenced, the SE have been up in arms with all sort of arguments for his release based on some perceived injustice in his trial
They threw up their social media influencers, the Cubana duo, who temporarily came out of their drunken hedonistic reverie to warn Tinubu that he would not get 10,000 views if he didn’t release Kanu
Release him, how na? The man has said he is going on appeal. Why not wait for that process to be finished before we start the emotional and tribal blackmail that is our lot
Ohh, what of the bandits? Why is Kanu not also treated like that and allowed to negotiate and join the Army
That is the kind of banal argument I have been hearing from Igbo people who usually should have sense
Walahi we all no just get sense no be only Igno people.
If you listen to Yoruba elites defending this train crash that is Tinubu, you will puke and if you also listen to hausa/fulani people defending Buhari that year, you will just faint.
We sha like to waste energy in pursuing irrelevant things while the big useless elephant is in the room and standing on a stolen mandate
We will now spend another 6 months dissipating energy on this Kanu matter while the big thieving elephant is growing bigger and fatter and getting ready for 2027
See, our issue is not Kanu, it is not bandits, it’s not the economy, it’s not violence, but our voter apathy and our penchant for allowing ourselves to be so easily divided by our oppressors, such that we cannot speak with one voice as they put their knees on our collective neck while deploying either religion or tribe to keep us stupidly divided.
You will see now – this Kanu thing will turn to another Yoruba and Igbo thing, and Lagos state will react as usual by taking bulldozers into Igbo-controlled markets in Lagos
And when elections finally come, we all go and vote along the divided line and wake up in the morning to the same Jehosaphat ruling us with his bearded son still parading as King of boys
Why can’t we just have sense and go for the head, using massive and robust democratic strategies of mass mobilisation towards the elections
When State Governors like Anambra are being voted in with only 400,000 votes in a state with millions, why won’t we have minions leading us
When a President is voted in by just 30% of registered voters, why won’t our voices be muted?
Do we have sense? If we, as a Nation, held these people accountable, would we be shouting – why imprison Kanu and then Bandits are running amok?
If we had sense, we would protect our institutions, protect our votes, and ensure that the system works for the betterment of all of us
We no just get sense, and that is why Igbo people are shouting free Kanu despite the bloody sit at home mondays he orchestrated with his venom and which ked to the deaths of many and Yoruba people are saying crucify him and when it gets to Igboho, Igbo people will shout crucify him, and Yoruba people will say God forbid and in all of these, our oppressors will be smiling and swiging Champagne and mocking us and be saying – Emilokan
If we get sense, we should start a very serious mobilisation of Nigerians towards the polls, and if we can’t wait, we should start a strategic recall of incompetent Senators in a bid to weaken the President’s hold on that institution so that he can sit up or ship out
This rain is falling on every tribe. Everybody is being killed, everybody is hungry, the arbitrariness is everywhere, but as we no get sense, we no dey see am, na Ethnic issues we dey pursue all of the time
We no just get sense, I swear
Come and beat me
Duke of Shomolu
