Today, I worked as an investment banker. For those of u who don’t know, I have a small Advisory Firm called Barnaby & Edgar.
At B&E we do a lot of advisory work especially in areas of capital raising, deal structuring, valuations and other such investment banking services
As we speak, we have some very interesting mandates in Real Estate and a very powerful one with the President Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library.
We are a small firm of about six people, close knit and a pack of dreamers
Last two months, one of us passed and one relocated to Canada and this was smack in the middle of a Real Estate transaction which remains our biggest
Today, i am happy to say that we have rebuilt our team.
David used to work with me at Aquila, went for his masters and have come back not with one Masters but two
Today was his first day at work and he jumped in smack into the middle of two mandates
Ugbede is fresh from School where he showed class
He sat stary eyed today at the meetings soaking up conversations
He supports me back end, scheduling my meetings and generally serving as a link between me and the clients
C, cannot be named for very obvious reasons but he is the head of the team and has continued to show class
Emem covers our HR and regulatory affairs
Today, we won two very exciting Mandates – healthcare trading and Agric
The clients came in to tell us their stories and we had some very rich discussions
