From a sporting pedigree, my brother, Dr Ezekiel Adamu has circumvagated life and circled back to his blood affinity – Sports
Last Friday, I got a call from Yemi Edun the International Real Estate Mogul to join him at the Wheatbaker with Dr Adamu
I cannot even remember how I met Dr Adamu but I sha know that we have many mutual friends
From the music superstar – Dbanj, to the aforementioned Yemi and the ever so controversial Dozy of the Tingo fame and the other egbon who co hosted the massive Burna Boy show which broke records and at the same time drew a lot of flak
Most of you would know Dr Adamu from Balmoral. Balmoral according to him, is the pioneer in upscal events, using luxurious and well blended canopies
According to Ezekiel, his Balmoral can be said to be responsible for the moving of parties from street corners and schools to the ubiquitous Event Centres that has berthed a multi billion Naira indsutry
But today, the talk was on boxing and right beside him and Yemi was a representative of a former world Boxing Champ – Amir Khan
They are organising a huge fight on Lagos at the Onikan stadium first week of October
The fight would draw over 10 boxers from 10 countries and would also showcase huge music stars like Naira marley and Dbanj to name a few
Ezekiel is effusive as he explains the event to me and I cant help but share in his enthusiasm
Coming from the hugely popular celebrity boxing match between the fast mouthed Portable and the obnoxious Speed Darlington, Ezekiel moves with confidence into a more serious and world body sanctioned fight that should put Lagos on the boxing world map.
