Let me use this opportunity to congratulate my brother Uche Orji on his recent appointment to the Board of Access Bank Nigeria as recently unveiled at the NGX
Uche Orji, until very recently, was the visionary MD at the Nigerian Sovereign Wealth Fund, where he brilliantly delivered a world-class vision.
Uche is a globally regarded Investment banker who has impacted markets as far afield as Hong Kong, London, and Paris, and only just recently founded a tech-based firm whose initial offer was oversubscribed globally.
Speaking with Uche last night on his support of Uda Nkwa my new play, Uche mentioned his passion for the Arts and his resolve to continue the support because – Edgar, you are not making money from this but using theatre to tell stories about our history that would otherwise not be told.
I also want to congratulate Access Bank for this very strategic appointment as it would further strengthen its corporate governance, drive deeper institutionalization and heighten collective decision-making at that level.
This is quite instructive, especially as other such players within the FUGAZ space are morphing into *CORPORATE MONARCHIES and even seeking hereditary succession, Access Bank is strengthening its dispersal power base, better positioning them as a serious global franchise.
