There is nothing in this world that is more painful than the loss of a child, especially under the circumstances that this has happened
A legal case has been instituted, the Lagos State Government have commenced investigations, and the hospital has put out a statement
I rarely take my time before throwing in my own commentary, but this time around, I beg to stand down
The reason being that I, too, have carried someone in relative good health into a Nigerian hospital and came out with her corpse
The pain is indescribable, the tightness on my chest is still there five years after, and anytime I drive past the hospital, I see the door I took her through, and the same door she came out a corpse
For now, my support is with Chimamanda and all Nigerians who have gone through this.
Despite my emotional support for her, I will tarry before I start firing and abusing people on this matter.
So, my people, stop calling me and saying, ‘Edgar, won’t you say something?
For now, let me kneel down in pain and in complete supplication to Jehovah to please hold this young couple as they grapple with this monumental pain.
