… The fact that I insist on male superiority does not mean that I do not respect women
As long as I am made to pay a dowry and the woman assumes my name thereby obliterating her father’s name, there can be no equality
My being superior bestows on me the strong duty of protecting her, growing her, partnering with her, supporting her and loving her
In return, she must respect me, recognise my headship and leadership, offer advice and be my helpmate
Crying that I do not respect women cos of my views is blackmail from weakened men, feminists and misguided women
I have enjoyed more stability in relationships and partnerships than most cos my partners from my youth know fully well who is in charge and allow me guide and lead
Women who have not been prepared for emotional leadership from birth can not now begin to assume leadership when they dont have the emotional and psychological resolve to face the challenges of leadership
I am not moved by the outpouring from the notoriously fikle comment section on social media as I believe very strongly that women remain confused as to their role in society and most men have been totally mumufied by a surging female power that I dont understand
We would regain societal stability when men come back to be men like Chinua Achebe’s Okonkwo and women return to be women like the great Funmilayo Ransom Kuti who despite her global fame still knelt down for Rev Kuti, her crown
Any woman that feels that I don’t respect them cos I insist on my God given leadership is a fool and any man who after paying a dowry, have the woman assume his name and still seeks or accepts equality is a bigger fool.
Come and beat me
