A different kind of friend

As you all know, I’m in the market looking for money for my Ekiti Festival and it’s not smiling at all

So I reached out to my friend – an ED in a bank and he said

I’ll give u personal money, leave the Bank alone

I said ok and he sent me N1m and I thanked him

But see the lesson. When I thanked him, he said – Thanks for giving me the honour by asking

Wow, that bowled me. What does that mean, cos it’s deep.

Can you kindly explain to me ur understanding of that statement?
