I was born a near orphan in sleepy Iragbiji in today’s Osun State.
I didn’t even know how I arrived at Isale Eko when I did
Isale Eko of those days was quite tough, and we did things to survive
I went under the kind umbrella of Alhaja Abibat Mogaji, who became more than a mother to me
As life hit me, I hit it back. I knew I would stand; how, was what I didn’t know, but what I knew was the fact that I would fight with all the strength that I could muster to not only stand but impact this world
Time for Chicago came, and I went. I rolled with the crowd and did all I could do as a young man to survive, and survive I did.
I ran into trouble several times, as one would expect, got out of a lot, but got scratched with an indictment, which I settled with a fine
School? Don’t even know, but as I have always said, I did what I had to do to stand in a world that had nothing but turbulence for me
I still remember those heady days, those days when I woke up to nothing – no warm meal, no family, no friends, but the harsh Chicago cold winds that would hit my bed, as I had no money to warm the room
With steely determination, I pushed, worked hard, did what most young men at the time did to eke out a living and come out with something
Then the opportunity to come back home opened up, and I snatched it
Got a job at Mobil, did extremely well, and rose to become its treasurer, and after that, I jumped into politics and
became a Senator after a hard battle, enrolled at the National Open university and, took a crash course in accounting and graduated in flying colours
My political career is one of the most colourful, moving from the trenches during the fight against Military dictatorship, through being the last man standing after the OBJ blitz, to working for Buhari and now with my emergence as the President of our great Company
I have seen blood and fire. My story should be an inspiration to all youths with my kind of background
I am not a drop in the ocean, as I have learnt that other Presidents and Heads of State of our great country have also come from very tough backgrounds
IBB and Abdulsalami were orphans and grew up under severe deprivation; Obasanjo was of a peasant background; President Jonathan didn’t wear shoes till adulthood, and even MKO Abiola sang about his poverty
Our great Country picks people like us, polishes us and throws us up to serve, and this is the grace that I have found myself as your President
Let my story be a shining beacon to all Nigerian Youths that the circumstances of your birth, no matter what, can only serve as fuel for tremendous growth and acceleration, as I have done with my life
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Thank you
My people, even if this baba want talk this talk and end all these FBI or no FBI, the mumu people around am, like dem Reno and Uncle Bayo, will not let him come out clean with a story that would captivate us and form a brilliant script for a Nollywood Movie or Netflix Documentary
It is this James Hardly Chase type lie on top of lie roller coaster that continues to damage any hope of a brilliant legacy after all of this hard work
President Tinubu needs an urgent image audit. Simple. Thank you
Come and beat me
Duke of Shomolu
