Most of our menfolk do not know where chivalry stops and stupidity begins
Our women even expect us to be stupid to be treated as ladies
Chivalry is holding an umbrella over her head when rain falls.
Chivalry is opening the door for her to come out of the car
Chivalry is allowing her to pass through the door first. It’s standing up in a bus for her to sit, it’s protecting her in a fight, it’s hugging her gently from the side, it’s paying for dinner, it’s a whole lot of things; stupid is not
Stupid is being asked to wash your plates after eating; stupid is being asked to buy water on your way back from work.
Stupid is being asked to ‘drop my younger brother off on your way to work’; stupid is being asked to beg for sex.
Stupid is plenty. Stupid is following her to the salon and waiting in the car; stupid is holding her bag, or God forbid, carrying it for her while she is on the phone
Today our men do very stupid things for love and hide under chivalry, and our women, who have forgotten that only true ladies must expect Chivalry from their men, would be there expecting the man to be stupid in the name of Chivalry
One main rule about Chivalry is the fact that only true ladies should expect to be treated as such
You can’t be cursing my mother, chewing gum like a prostitute, sitting down with legs wide apart and your skirt tucked in between them, shouting like a disused fire hydrant during sex, and now come and be expecting Chivalry
A lady coos during sex; a lady would never curse you out no matter the situation, a lady will never slap you, a lady will be very polite and respectful, a lady will dress nice and simple – that lady will earn Chivalry
The man must not disrespect himself in the name of Chivalry; he must not demean himself; he must keep his self-respect intact and must draw the line very quickly; that way he would earn her respect
Many men have suffered in this Lagos in the name of Chivalry; I even hear when the woman will shout and demand to be treated as a lady
Once a woman gets to that point, she is no longer a lady and has lost the privilege of being treated as one.
So my brothers, pls lets not continue to be stupid in the name of Chivalry; our mumu suppose don do.
