My friend, who is battling breast cancer and undergoing chemotherapy, just lost her mum this morning to cancer
She herself had to have one breast removed some years ago, and now the second breast is affected
Her elder sister died last year, leaving her with no visible source of income and a Nephew
She reached out this morning to tell me, and after that, she has gone offline and understandably so
This has been one case that I have not disturbed anyone about, as I continue to struggle to support her treatment, which has been going on for like a year now
These kinds of cases are what used to remind me of one Bible track that my father used to read
Why does a living God permit calamity?
That was the name of the track, and even though I never read it, the title has followed me till this day
Why is God allowing this? Someone with no job, a petty trader, barely surviving, to not only be struck with cancer, but lose her sister and now lose her mum under the same circumstances
I can’t even ask the question cos God knows it all, and this is not even the heaviest burden being carried by people in this life.
For my friend, I will continue to pray for her and support her as best as I can cos this load is truly very heavy.
